Justin Pearson was born in 1963 in Christchurch, New Zealand and is the son of respected New Zealand and Australian painter A.R.Pearson.
Justin left New Zealand in 1981, making his way to London, where he completed his Bachelor of fine Arts at Byam Shaw School of Art (Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design) in 1988. He is represented in private and corporate collections in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. He has won several awards, including; Winner of the John Copes Portrait Prize N.S.W in 2022 and also 2014, Finalist for the Mudgee portrait Prize 2022, Adams Portrait Award-Highly Commended NZ 2014-2008, Winner of the Heysen landscape Prize in 2007. He has been a finalist several times and received two Highly Commended in The Adams Portrait Award. Finalist in Fishers Ghost Award 2014-13 as well and was a semi-finalist in the 2022-2014 Doug Moran Portrait Prize, Justin work and resides in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales Australia. |
